Strike unveils Interphone 5 device that allows motorcyclists to talk on ...

Wind in your face. Bugs in your teeth. You yell to you buddy as you try not to swerve around the round. Oh the joy of motorcycling. But there’s a new toy that could change all of this.

Back in time, motoring enthusiasts drooled over a range of products that souped up their machines added to their driving experience. Today, they still seek that for sure. But on top of it, motorists seek to carry almost all the personal gadgets when on the road. So much so, a clutch of companies has emerged, adapting a variety of devices for cars and motorcycles, and even developing new ones that cater to the niche market.

The Interphone F5, unveiled by the Australian motoring technology company Strike, is an example of the latter. It is an advanced and innovative motorcycle product that helps motorcyclists traveling in pairs or groups to communicate. The device helps up to six motorists enjoy conferencing-type conversations in a range of 2400 metres.

“I’ve spent over ten years in the industry looking at motorcycle and automotive technology and the Interphone F5 is by far one of the most impressive devices I have seen,” claimed Strike CEO Chris Ryan. “It’s simple and intuitive. It works in all weather conditions (IP67 rated) and the battery life and features are truly remarkable,” he added.

The Interphone F5 uses the energy efficient Bluetooth 3.0 technology and delivers 700 hours of standby time and 11 hours talk time on a single three-hour charge. It also boasts Automatic Gain Control, which adjusts the volume of the speakers depending on the level of ambient noise. The device also comes equipped with multimedia capabilities, FM radio with RDS, music streaming, GPS instructions and text-to-speech.

Available in single and paired versions, the Interphone F5 can be installed on most types of helmets and comes with updatable software.

No more bugs your the teeth. That’s got to be a good thing.
