Episode 81. The Interphone « My New Life… in Brazil

It’s something quite remarkable to see how much some people can really be dumb!

Every now and again, I get people in the building to ring me at home, through the interphone, asking me: “Allo? Is that flat number 95?” to which I answer “No, this is number 43”. “Oh, sorry!” They apologise.

Well, that’s no big deal. What am I complaining about? This can easily happen to anyone… Right?

The problem is that every time the interphone rings, I get some people asking either for “flat 59” or “flat 89” or “flat 88” or “flat 95” or even “flat 99”.

The digits on a telephone and on an interphone are located at the exact same place. So, if you take a look at your telephone, you will notice that digit number 4 and digit number 3 have got nothing to do with digits number 5, 8 or 9!

Unless those people have REALLY BIG fingers and occasionally miss the digits on the interphone, ending up dialling my flat number (which, to be honest, I really doubt!), there can only be one reason for them calling me… they are just bloody dumb!
